Compulsory & GFL
My name is Laura Bennison, I'm 21 years old and I grew up in Lake Stevens, WA. I fell in love with gymnastics when I was 7 years old. I started at LEGA and continued until I was 11 years old. I moved to Emerald City Gymnastics Academy for one year and later decided to start competitive cheerleading. I was on levels 4, 5 and 6 during my time in gymnastics.
I competed for Lake Stevens Jr. Cheer for one year and then decided to come back to LEGA and join the cheer program called Legacy. I competed for two years on Legacy’s level 3 team. At the same time I was also on my high school's cheer team at Snohomish High School. I
cheered at Snohomish for three years and was cheer captain my senior year. I graduated high school in 2015.
During my junior and senior year I coached Snohomish Jr. Cheer for two sideline football seasons. The girls and parents wanted to start competing and I was excited to help start Panther Elite. We were lucky enough to be able to practice in LEGA’s facility for both seasons. I was
head coach and choreographed all of their routines. I even took them to Las Vegas where they competed at Jamz Nationals in 2016. I also coached competitive cheerleading at Sonic Elite Allstars where I coached 5 teams, Tiny Level 1, Mini Level 1, Junior Level 1, Senior Level 1, and Allstar Prep Level 1. During that time I also choreographed Cascade High School’s state winning competition cheer routine. While I was coaching cheer I attended Everett Community College and received my Associates of Arts and Science degree.
As you can see, gymnastics and working with children has always been a passion of mine
and I am excited to be coaching GFL classes and Level 3 team girls here at LEGA.
